Before reading the articles from this weeks assignment I only had a very fuzzy idea about what podcasts were. After reading articles I can see how they are a good tool especially in high paced professions. I especially like the idea that unlike other social media tools, podcasts can be used virtually anywhere with the use of an iPod and do not take as much time to use in comparison to blogs or vlogs because they can be utilized while multitasking.
On the subject of advertising used in social networking sites I am very torn on the subject. While I think it is a great tool for companies and consumers I found it a little unsettling that advertising had so much access to the content on social networking sites, enough access to be able to target certain users for specific ads based on their relationship status or religious status.
